It greatly enriches the lens language of TV programs, increases the dynamics and impact of the lens pictures, and makes the audience feel immersed in the scene; moreover, due to the unique advantage of the crane camera being condescending, it can often capture scenes that other cameras cannot. This station purchased a set of 12-meter Jimmy Jib heavy-duty panning arm. The arm adopts a high-strength aluminum alloy triangular structure, which is light, strong and stable. The control cable can be placed inside the arm, which enhances the operational efficiency. Reliability meets safety; the arm length is segmented and combined design. The length of each arm (tube) is about 0.9m. The length can be increased or decreased as needed. It is easy to upgrade, simple to install, and convenient to transport.
Proper installation and debugging of the rocker arm is a prerequisite for good use of the rocker arm, and it is also conducive to extending the service life of the rocker arm. Based on the practical experience of installing and using Zhanmei rocker arms many times in the past two years, we will briefly introduce the installation, use and maintenance of rocker arms.
1. Installation of rocker arm
The rocker arm equipment is very large in size and weight. Safety must be the first priority when installing it, and it must be carried out in an orderly manner under safe conditions, otherwise it will easily cause unnecessary damage. If installed outdoors, pay attention to the pressure on the ground, surrounding pedestrians and vehicles, potential dangers, weather conditions, etc.;
If installed indoors, be careful not to have obstacles around the rocker arm to prevent the operator from being affected when moving back and forth. The length of the rocker arm must be determined according to the size of the venue. The rocker arm is generally placed on the right side of the stage entrance. The rocker arm camera It can reach the best center axis of the stage, so that it can pan to the center of the stage without affecting the camera position in the audience.
The Zhanmei rocker arm purchased by our station is divided into four levels: 12 meters, 9 meters, 7 meters and 5 meters according to the installation length. During the installation process, due to different sites and different installation lengths, different main steel cables, side steel cables and pulley steel cables are required. In order to distinguish the steel ropes of different lengths and find the corresponding steel ropes for the site as soon as possible, we put labels on the different steel ropes and bundle them together respectively, so that during installation, we will not try them one by one. , improves the speed of installing the rocker arm and reduces the installation failure rate.
2. Use of rocker arm
After the boom is installed, first install the camera for shooting on the head platform. Next, use a level to measure the level of the head support tube (Head Support Tube), and adjust the connecting tube between the pulley cable and the front cable (Front Cable) so that the level indicates the level state.
Next, measure the verticality of the head assembly. Place the head level against the gimbal, loosen the cable handle, adjust the verticality, and then tighten the handle. Next, adjust the focus servo component (FocusServo). Install the focus servo assembly correctly on the lens, taking care that the gear does not come into contact with the lens focus ring temporarily. Power on the control box, rotate the focus knob to infinity, manually rotate the lens focus ring to infinity, and then elastically mesh the gear with the focus ring. The key here is to make the stroke of the focus motor match the stroke of the focus ring.
If installed improperly, it will happen:
1. The focus ring has rotated to the end, but the motor can still rotate, which can easily damage the gear, focus ring and motor;
2. The motor rotates reversely to the end, but the focus ring is not in place and focusing cannot be achieved. Installation of the aperture servo is similar to that of the focus servo.
Second, adjust the balance of the camera. Connect all cables before adjusting. First, move the camera support plate forward and backward until the camera reaches a horizontal state without tilting its head or falling upside down, and then tighten the support plate bolts.
Next, turn the Swing Arm 90 degrees to make it horizontal. At this time, the camera is vertical. Loosen the swing arm knob (Swing ArmKnob), adjust the front and rear position to make it horizontal, and tighten the knob. At this point, no matter where the camera is manually rotated, it can remain horizontal and will not rotate due to gravity.
If the camera tilts upside down or tilts its head, it means that the balance has not been adjusted properly, and the above two steps need to be adjusted again.
Finally, weight the entire rocker arm. Add a barbell plate of appropriate weight to keep the arm in a horizontal state. It is required that no matter what position the rocker moves to, it can remain still after letting go, without tilting the head or falling upside down. At this point, all balance adjustments to the rocker arm are complete.
3. Maintenance of rocker arm
The TV camera rocker plays such an important role in program shooting, so the daily maintenance and upkeep of the rocker cannot be ignored.
The focus of rocker arm maintenance and upkeep is the pan/tilt and head boom unit. Lubricating oil should be added to various parts of the gimbal regularly to reduce mechanical damage and increase flexibility.
Since the large rocker arm is often used alternately indoors and outdoors, if the level and pitch of the head boom unit are not flexible, it will affect the use effect of the entire rocker arm. When disassembling the mechanical part of the entire machine head and boom unit, pay attention to the following points:
(1) Pay attention to the wiring of the electronic control part.
Since the electronic control wiring is attached to the boom, if you do not pay attention when disassembling and assembling the machine, it is easy to operate the electronic control wiring, causing unnecessary trouble.
(2) Pay attention to the removal of metal bolts.
Because the rocker arm is often used outdoors, the metal parts are rusted in different ways. Pay special attention to the way and method of removing the bolts to avoid the bolts from slipping or breaking.
(3) Pay attention to cleaning and lubrication.
Because the rocker arm has been used for a long time, the lubricating oil in the horizontal and pitch shafts has dried up, and there are various impurities at the shaft mouth, which all affect the rotation of the shafts. The horizontal axis is made of plastic flat pads, and the tilting axis is made of metal balls. Use different cleaning agents when cleaning to avoid affecting the cleaning effect. After cleaning, apply lubricant evenly and resume the sequence.
(4) Pay attention to adjusting the fastening bolts.
When cleaning and maintaining each part of the rotating shaft and installing the fastening bolts, be sure not to tighten them too much, which will cause difficulty in rotating the shaft. The tightness of the fastening bolts must be adjusted multiple times to avoid affecting the service life of the electronically controlled motor.
